2017 FESTIVAL AND AGM THURSDAY 18th MAY 2017

‘WHAT CHURCHES ARE FOR?’

 The 2017 Festival and AGM will be held on Thursday 18th May 2017 at St James’s Church, Sussex Gardens, Paddington London W2 3UD. Following the recent publication of the Church Buildings Review and the Festival Churches proposal, the lecture slot at the Alcuin AGM will take a different format in 2017. There will be two presentations, by the Rt Rev’d Dr John Inge (Bishop of Worcester and the lead Bishop for Church-Care who wrote the introduction to the recent Buildings Review); and Professor Robin Gill (Emeritus Professor of Applied Theology at the University of Kent and author of ‘The Myth of the Empty Church.’), on the question of ‘What Churches are for?’  A panel of Alcuin trustees will respond to the presentations before opening the conversation to wider discussion with the audience.’
