Annual A+C weekend retreat in West Yorkshire — Art + Christianity 19 – 21 September 2025

This year’s A+C weekend retreat in West Yorkshire will take place from Friday 19 September 2025 17:30 to Sunday 21 September 2025 16:30. It will be based at the Community of the Resurrection, Mirfield, West Yorkshire.

There is an optional tour of the Yorkshire Sculpture Park from 11:00 to 15:00 on the Friday afternoon. The retreat proper starts with a lecture by Fr Marc Chauveau: Contemporary Art and Religious Architecture. On Saturday morning we’ll be looking at the recent art commissions at Mirfield with in a guided walk with Br George Guiver. This will be followed by a visit to the new Stanbrook Abbey followed by a short walk outside, before heading to Ampleforth Church to look particularly at the Patrick and John Reyntiens windows.

On Sunday the programme includes a visit to the Hepworth Gallery in Wakefield, followed by a guided tour of Wakefield Cathedral. Choral evensong at 3.30pm at the Cathedral will end the day.
