Staging the sacrifice: a lecture by Rowan Williams

7 January 2020, 7pm

St John’s Waterloo, London SE1 (£12, includes a glass of wine afterwards)

This is the final event in our Visual Communion series exploring how the visual arts have shaped and are shaped by the Eucharist. The events have drawn upon ecclesiastical art, architecture, and design and each have taken place in a different regional centre. In this final lecture, Lord Williams, former Archbishop of Canterbury, will discuss how the Eucharist is contextualised in image and metaphor.

Chaired by the Rev’d Canon Chris Irvine.

The lecture is preceded by a short service in the church at 6pm to which all are welcome.
