Joint Liturgical Studies 65
The question of what might hold the autonomous Churches of the Anglican Communion together is a topical and pressing question as this Study is published just before bishops from around the globe gather for the Lambeth Conference in July 2008 in the hope of rediscovering their sense of a shared Anglican identity. But what precisely is it that constitutes this, historically speaking, modern sense of belonging together? Are there recognizable identifying characteristics, or a particular culture and ethos which we can confidently categorize as being ‘Anglican’?
