Joint Liturgical Studies 11
The purpose of the present Study is to present evidence to support the claim that the anaphora of the Twelve Apostles (ATA), the anaphora of the Liturgy of John
Chrysostom (LJC) and Apostolic Constitutions (AC) are all independent derivatives of a single prayer. It will be argued that the prayer (which must have claim to considerable antiquity and be of great significance in determining the development of the Antiochene liturgical tradition) has been subject to various degrees of conflation, influence and reworking to produce the three anaphoras in the form that we now have them.
